Q. What is the Author’s Choice Blog?

A: Every Wednesday, I’ll bring you an up-close and personal interview with a crime fiction author. The first interview will go live January 7, 2026.

Q. Why?

A: Many authors have helped me in various ways through the years, and this is something I can do to give back. All authors—except celebrity authors, I suppose—need opportunities for readers to learn about them and their books. I enjoy learning about new books, but even more, I like learning quirky things about authors—what makes them tick, what makes them different from every other author. The Author’s Choice Blog will provide authors to give readers a peek into their lives.

Q: How will you do that?

A: Each interview has the same structure:

1.      We begin with two truths and a lie. You get to see if you guess right.

2.      Authors get to choose and answer eight forced choice (which of this/that/or the other thing) questions about writing and life.

3.      The third part of the interview focuses on their newest book and its characters with three open-ended questions.

4.      Finally, the author reveals the lie and how the two truths came about.

5.      Oh, and you can comment and the authors will respond.

Q: Anything else?

A: We’ll include the author’s picture, a book cover, purchase links, and a link to the author’s website where you can find out more about the interviewee and their books.

Q: Why crime fiction authors?

A: They are my tribe.
